St. Louis is a notorious biker gang haven.
Really? I know we have them come through from time to time but honestly was not aware of this. What biker gangs? Do you know? Again, truly curious.

They would have arrested looters
And nothing more than was done last night would have been done? Looting/rioting/destruction wise?

Well, as you know, St. Louis was "The Gateway to the West". I think y'all have more interstates than anywhere else in the country. You're the hub of America, essentially. Biker gangs travel, so they always stop in St. Louis and it's a known haven for gangs.

So apparently that was his girlfriend who called into the radio station yesterday
She specifically said she was a friend of his girlfriend. Not a friend of his wife.

Every major metro area is a haven for gangs.

I'm just relaying what I saw on National Geographic, bruh. Don't bust my moment.

I also hope he didn't have a bitter divorce cause a woman scorned and all that

I'm not sure why y'all hate this. It's a black (and white Pentecostal, for that matter) thing. If he's ok with it, I am, too.

Moment allowed.

If there were 6 to 12 looters like was claimed earlier - I would hope that can be handled.
And keep in mind the backdrop.
Sunday - riot
Monday - riot
Tuesday - riot
Wednesday - police force night (take your sides on cause/effect) after curfew put on.
Thursday - New guy comes in; unprofessionally and continuously slams the approach of his predecessor right up to 2 hours before:
Saturday - Riot
There is no 'caught off guard' here or anything like that. A conscious decision was made to back the police out under a failed idea that they had become the instigators and the end result is Americans had their property and livelihood destroyed.
Sorry, not thankful.

You have to be a County cop to take this stance.

It is nothing more than symbolic of the failed approach. He came in, slammed his predecessors in a most unprofessional way and played the 'I am one of them' card. That moment was symbolic of that.
And what happened 2 hours after this quote:
“There hasn’t been an incident tonight, last night, and I think if we had had this approach Sunday or Monday night, we wouldn’t have had any incidents then,” Johnson said.
We as in the police. Our fault. Not the rioters and not the looters. We caused it to happen - wouldn't have happened if not for us.
Yes buddy - hope you enjoyed the rest of the night ..... watching

gosh, not sure if it was you or undecided, but one of you posted there were 6 or 12 looters out there yesterday. There were also plenty of posts that it was overblown and the media wasn't showing the community stepping up. Seems slight inconsistent to talk about 100s of stores. But again, who cares - it was a free anarchy night. whether it was 3,5,10, or 50 - why stop them. Where is the magic line that looters/rioters stop being cute, adorable and acceptable and become a problem?
That was probably me. I only said 100's because there are 100's of businesses there and I couldn't guess which dozen or whatever of those 100's were saved.

If not, then lets not call them law enforcement and cut their numbers down to a dude on the corner in case you get a flat tire.
They don't go only by law enforcement and they haven't been called law enforcement forever. They have also been called peace officers, not law enforcement. I suppose in reality, they are a combination of all of those philosophies and the question is finding the right balance.

So if looting starts tonight, what should the police do?
I don't know. I speculated when Johnson first came on that the first night, he was going to let them have their night. He let them move throughout the streets etc. I speculated that from there he would slowly reign things back in, beginning with taking the streets back. I think last night was the first step in that. They had a slight show of force to let them know they're there. I suspect in time they will completely take the streets back. Eventually leading to normal policing activities.

LOL whatever helps you sleep at night. He blamed the riots on the cops. Period.
Those looters and rioters would have been studying the bible if those dang cops hadn't messed things up.

He likes his community. He's repping for Ferguson. I get why you'd think that's a slam, being a County cop and all. But I think he was being hopeful about his hometown. I hope he gets shot for it. Amirite?

Sounds like an unbiased POV to me.

And that is my problem - you don't give rioters and looters a freaking 'night'. This is not the Purge for gods sake.

I don't take it to be that binary. If you're the object of some of that criticism, I get why it would piss you off. Y'all got payback last night. Lots of "hahaha" and "I told you so" texts going back and forth I'm sure. And then come in here and dress it up as righteous indignation.
