I said it last night. There was information readily available that would've mitigated the outrage. But, they refused to be transparent and, in doing so, only portrayed themselves as disconnected public servants trying to protect "the man".
The looters and rioters will use ANY excuse to commit anarchy, and the police department and mayor's office gave them exactly that.

I support their decision not to do shite as a slap in the face to the powers that be that removed them.

So they already have the investigation done and are ready for a GJ?
It is such a dick measuring contest by the County, the State, Ferguson and what not.
I said it before, but frankly, McCulloch and the Ferguson Chief are doing the cop no favors. I am hoping that the DOJ is above the political battle also going on, but if they get sucked into it, the cop could find himself being charged in part because they want to show the County/Ferguson the other side is right.
County/Ferguson on one side. State/Feds on the other side. Each side taking steps to outdo the other. Hopefully what is not lost in that shuffle is a search for the truth, or however close they can get to it.

Immature is acting out everytime you feel wronged instead of letting justice take it's natural course.

Lol. Every county cop you could find on Thursday morning told you they asked to be taken off the case. If they chose not to enforce the law because they don't like Jay Nixon's decision, they're even bigger pussies than I thought.

For me also, we are given a snapshot of the victim minutes before this happened. He appeared to be filled with arrogance and confidence. It's easier to see him fighting back with the cops, as opposed to him raising his hands in surrender only to be executed by a cop for no earthly reason.
His physical confrontation with the clerk certainly makes me believe at this point that even if he wasn't the aggressor, MB is more likely than not to have fought with the officer at the car. Who knows what the nature of that fight was. I still have a hard time seeing someone charging the officer after shots were fired. All of that can obviously change with the next revelation as well. I suppose I await the tox report and see what, if anything, he was hopped up on.

Just because the rioters and looters are immature does not justify the police being immature and not defending the city out of principle because their feelings are hurt

I'm expecting to see small amounts of marijuana and then hear all the marijuana warriors, pro and con, jump into the debate.

Cops selectively enforce the law all the time.
What is a comparable example to a line of police officers watching riots and looting of several businesses?

Oh. So you're just concerned about the degree of the offense in selective enforcement. Not that it happens.

Does a tox report really take two weeks?
When I've been drug tested for work the last two times they had the results in a couple days

Have you heard any commentary from our Attorney General over the past 6 years? Is there any doubt what slant there will be on this with that involvement?

I don't really care too much what the tox report says. It would have to be an extreme drug like PCP or bath salts for me to think anything of it.

The police officer's name? I would have released it.
I am curious as to why?

Lets go to the Cigar store owner and explain to him the good news. Yes we know you got roughed up and stolen from, and of course that knowledge will incite people to destroy your store. But here is the good news... it will only be you and few and then they will walk away scott free. Thank you for being a proud American. That is what you guys are feebly trying to rationalize.
Apparently that's what the police did

Based on your post this is where we disagree

It is called appeasing criminals and anarchy. You are arguing succumbing to blackmail and hostage, without even the remotest attempt to arrest is facking A.
My post have been related specifically to last night. I'm not arguing that should be the long term plan but that it was the best plan for last night outside of full engagement. There's a press conference scheduled for 3 today during which I hope a concrete strategy

I haven't listened to that bipolar idiot one time. I know he takes bribes in the form of campaign contributions, FWIW.

If you mean whether I put jaywalking and riot/looting on the same level, then yes you are correct.
Personally I think letting criminals run amok destroying property and livelihoods because intervening might make them mad is not a good position. Apparently that is not a unanimous position which I think scares me more.

And as soon as the Chief said the officer was beat up in the scuffle and had to go to the hospital, they were going to have to release the name. You don't get to pick and choose between "I'm going to let this information out" and "protecting the integrity of the investigation."
Man, don't get me going on the Ferguson chief. Suffice it to say, my own opinion is he needs to be taken out of office now. Not only has he handled things poorly, but he has actually made matters worse. And by saying that, I am NOT letting the looters/rioters off the hook. They deserve and should get theirs. But that doesn't mean there isn't other blame to go around.
