Yes. Big time. I probably fall into that group you talked about. The first thing that came to my mind is that they needed to get a white face out in front of their "protests", not Sharpton. People here are tired of the police abuse of authority and the issue could have been properly framed as exactly that instead of a white-black issue.

Holy shite I hope so. Again, I'm not talking about the cops on the front lines, but yes, the guys sitting safely behind a desk are supposed to have a pulse on their community. And I don't think it takes much to have an understanding that there is a general distrust of LE by the community in Ferguson. Doesn't take a rocket scientist.

Probably but IMO the only justification for shooting someone (not a dog because they're always fair game) 35' away is the cop having to be under fire.

i just saw the statement from the police. they claim a shot was fired in the car. if this is true, doesn't that show there was a struggle?

Naw man, I was talking even before that. Well before anything stupid started. I was thinking it was a prime opportunity for change but that it can't be viewed as a white/black thing if ya want change. The reactions you see in this thread about it being a white/black issue were predictable. So the only thought I had to avoid the white/black issue was you needed some white preacher or activist or politician or public figure of some sort to take up the cause, not Sharpton. Who that could be I have no idea.
