It was reported earlier in this thread that the department had just recently purchased cams and they hadn't been installed yet

Nothing has been confirmed. Did the car have a camera?

Must not have or this would most likely be more cut and dry.

That's another thing, aren't all cop cars equipped with a dash cam? Where is that video?

Ferguson is a town of 20,000 people. There are no dash cams.

I don't think this is fair. The police attempted to question at least one of the witnesses and the worker's attorney said that theybwoukd contact the police to answer questions when the witness and his attorney are available.

Yes, but they didn't try Saturday. Or Sunday. Or Monday. Finally, Tuesday, after it went public that they hadn't talked to him, did they try.

I thought they required on all cop cars to prevent this sort of mess from happening. How do u have cars but no dash cam?

Also, regardless of what side you are on, the police should absolutely be protecting the identity of the officer involved. Releasing his name or information doesn't solve a single thing until the investigation is over. It will only lead to more problems.

Agreed. Maybe not until the investigation is over but absolutely not until shite settles down.

It's pretty easy to have a car without a dash cam. You just don't have one. See, that was easy.

And it's predominantly black. That gives officers license to do dirty crap like street harassment and get away with it. Probably has been happening for years and never been reported. No dash cams gives the witnesses no creditability. Complaints fall on deaf ears. This was a damn powder keg.

As recent as the past few years, people have been arrested an imprisoned for taping police officers on duty. They do not like accountability unless it's some drivel about lowlife drug addicts.

The 2nd witness is the father of the victim and is more concerned with a lawsuit than justice?

Why is it ok for you, rdr and others to call the cop limp dick and cock-weak pig? Sounds like the truth doesn't matter to y'all. Y'all have already convicted cop of murder.

Idk why you are arguing with me as I've argued for multiple pages that I don't think the officer handled this well regardless of what happened. I've questioned how jaywalking turns into a person dying of multiple gunshot wounds.

Yes, there are statements. The statements haven't been investigated yet. Eyewitnesses have lied before. I'm not saying that happened. I'm saying it hasn't been proven true or false yet so what they say isn't a fact yet.
