I am curious to know what happens to the students who live in the proposed city of St. George but attend one of the Magnet schools outside of St. George but inside EBR Parish. For instance if you have a child that is currently a Junior at Baton Rouge Magnet or Lee Magnet High School and you reside in St. George will they be kicked out of school on Monday if this passes on Saturday
No
The election Saturday has nothing to do with schools.

No, but since Coach O resides in SG, and LSU Is in BR; they will have to fire him Monday.

Your kid will have long graduated high school by the time SG has a functioning school district.

There has to be some kind of transitional period so that St. George can get things set up and that's not going to happen between Saturday and next August when school starts again.
We really should move back to a system where only the educated are able to vote.

It’s the EBR Parish school system. SG residents pay into the Parish school system until an independent school district can be established.
At that point the transition is going to be a shite show. If kids are in elementary school currently they will probably be in starting high school by the time that transition even begins.

That's good to know. I personally am against the St. George emancipation but the ads I had to listen to on the radio today paid for by the "Broome machine" were truly criminal in their misrepresentations. Very sad
