Spotify help please?

First a note... I only carry the premium membership in 3-month intervals when they offer a discount, and I am in a premium period right now.
I have a playlist of ~450 songs. The app seems to get into a rut and play a core group of songs (maybe 50-70?) over and over, occasionally slipping the others in. Also, two weeks ago I added about 20 songs, and now it seems that 3 out of every 4 songs is one of those 20 new ones, and even after pressing fast-forward it continues to rotate these few sonts in. I've chosen shuffle and non-shuffle, cleared the cache in the app, nothing seems to help.

May try starting playing on a different song that it usually doesn't pick up random. That may change the algorithm somewhat.

Thank you. I have a Texas country playlist with about that many songs and I rarely hear 350 songs when I have it on shuffle.
DJ X is even worse. He’ll play the same 15 songs over and over.
I do like the 15 hours of audiobook time a month on premium.

DJ X fricking sucks and yeah, I have a playlist with 602 songs that I am always adding to, yet it seems like there is like the same 25 songs on rotation.

Yea it sux! I also followed a playlist that is 56hrs long and plays the same damn songs! I try to start different areas of the list and it still doesn’t help.

That's a known issue for most music services. My solution is to sort by different shite like song title or added date and play unshuffled top down.

That’s just how Spotify has their shuffle coded. Really wish they could change it because it sucks

Check to see if the songs are in a queue. This happened to us a few years back and it turns out that certain songs were in the queue and spotify automatically was going back and only playing these these songs no matter what.. Cleared the queue and it fixed the issue.

I have a spotify playlist of about 220 songs and when I click shuffle, it does a great job at actually shuffling them. They also have a "smart" shuffle option which you may be a victim of. Maybe check that out.

Just buy all the CDs, rip them to your computer, then use winamp.

I have the same issues. My theory is that the shuffle algorithm favors songs that have lesser payouts to the artists per stream so it stacks them over others

Do you have smart shuffle on? Switch it to regular shuffle.

There are only so many songs under ‘Gay Club Music.” Try listening to “Outlaw Country” and you might pick up a few more songs.
