I’m surprised Rogan is just taking it.

I’m not. That interview with Dorsey really showed his color. The dude has no backbone when it comes to the higher ups. He’ll do and say exactly what’s needed in order to maintain his position and get the money flowing. That’s fine but don’t be the guy who goes around and tell people to “be yourself, font be a fake”.

Rogan is a chameleon.

If somehow there was a concerted effort to take out all the tech giants in one fell swoop, I’d applaud. That includes internet, sorry Cluckster.

Why Brian Redban? That’s strange.

Maybe he's playing the long game. Once he collects the full $100M he can start his own platform.

Sad thing is that in order to be a free speech platform the servers will have to be located in Russia.

Completely different situations IMO.

While I tend to side with Chappelle in that the contract pre-dated streaming the general notion was he signed a contract, so tough shite.

In total, 7 different episodes featuring guest David Seaman have been nixed,

So Spotify is swallowing Seaman?

Wait, he handed over complete control of his library?

He cut a deal for them to stream his full episodes (they don’t have control over content). That doesn’t mean they don’t have control over what they do and don’t stream. That’s what happens when you sign your streaming rights over in exclusivity to a company that has shown a record of doing what they’re doing right now with other artists.

Did you catch the follow-up episode with Tim Pool?

I'd be interested to see if the number of listeners to JRE has gone up, down, or stayed the same since the move to Spotify. I know it doesn't really affect Joe's bottom line because he's getting paid either way.

But Spotify has completely dropped the ball since the move imo.

Is Spotify a bigger podcast streamer than iTunes? I know I listen to most of my podcast through iTunes still and since he dropped off I have listened to Rogan much less frequently

I'm not sure, but I doubt it.

Ultimately not fighting back is going to ruin Rogan. His whole shtick was he'd talk to anyone and he was a good interviewer. Now he will be seen as another corporate drone.

So has Joe, his interviews are way worse these days. I don't tune in to every one, but he seems to be drinking / pushing whiskey in a lot of them and he gets kind of dumb and obstinate after - kind of the opposite for why I enjoy tuning in for an interesting guest.
