You couldn’t pay me to fly spirit airlines. The airline is shitty and the people using the airline are trashy as hell.

American Airlines cancelled hundreds of flights the other day as well
all airlines are having massive cancellations, much of it related to trying to immediately gin back up for high demand and ease of Covid restrictions after having much of their planes and equipment mothballed, add to that all of the support vendors doing the same, and add to that lack of personnel because they can't get bodies back in place fast enough, difference is, for Spirit that's SOP

They're approaching WOW territory right now.
We flew WOW a few years ago. Newark to Iceland to London. I remember the flight attendants being mostly young, friendly, blonde and cute. I labeled them the YaYa Girls. We also had to bingo to an outlying airfield in Iceland to refuel because we ran low circling Reykjavik waiting for the fog to clear. Tiny little airfield with a fuel station and reindeer. The YaYa Girls broke out some Icelandic chocolates for us as we refueled.

I flew spirit once, or at least attempted to. Before my trip they emailed me something that said my flight had been changed. This led me to believe that I was leaving three hours later than my initial ticket. I get to the airport at the new time and they tell me that the flight left at the original time. I show them the email, and they just shrug. I had to pay an extra $400 for a one-way ticket to get to my destination that day. My initial ticket was a return ticket, and they only reimbursed me the first flight that I “missed.” Never again.

Never flown w them. Had a neighbor that was a pilot. He shot himself. Do not think I would do business with them.

My one flight with wow was a quick hop to Iceland from Paris. Apparently they didn’t strap the cargo down well enough, and it shifted as we were taking off. If y’all know anything about airplanes this is incredibly dangerous. We weren’t able to get enough lift the first attempt and then slammed back down after getting up about 20 feet. Then we started approaching the end of the runway and thankfully we were able to get off the ground and stay in the air this time. Closest I’ve ever come to dying, probably. But yeah, the flight attendants were smoking hot, and one of them was a friend of this Icelandic chick I knew. She told me later that night at a party that they called an emergency company meeting over the incident.

I've never had a bad experience flying Spirit, but they don't do the $50-60 RT to Dallas/Austin anymore either
