I'm relatively new to the state (within the last 6 years). Has anything ever happened weather wise where either of the major krewes just got completely canceled that year? Or is there too much invested to let that happen?

ETA: I'm asking if it was only canceled for weather purposes!

I do not believe, could be wrong, cancelled in 1979 due to police strike.

They have moved before.
During a police strike, one or both paraded in kenner.

Weather wise, I can't think of any parades that were completely cancelled. I've seen parades get rescheduled to a different day. Seen them rescheduled to roll a few hours earlier/later to avoid bad weather. Even remember parades cancelling their marching groups/bands due to weather but still had the parade with only the floats rolling.

A few years ago, Endymion had the extravaganza on Saturday and the parade rolled Sunday after Bacchus on the uptown route. The trash on the route was on another level.

Endymion got to much $$$$ involved. If Endy had to ride at 3 am in the East so as not to refund rides rest assured they will

I would hope if that happened Blain Kern would make the floats bullet proof.

The parade may get cancelled but the Extravaganza, Bacchus Bash, Orpheuscapade etc... will typically go on as scheduled.

I dont see the problem with just moving Bacchus up an hour or 2 and let Endy roll right behind them..

But honestly I dont want Endy Uptown at all

It would take a lot for Bacchus to be canceled. I am sure the same goes into Endymion. There is just way too much work that goes into putting those parades together just to up and cancel them.
