We used to jump everything.
Cars, ditches, culverts, ramps, even off the roofs of houses. We all broke something
From wrists, arms, legs to skulls.
Snowflakes now days cant touch a bike without a helmet and enough pads on to be a baseball catcher.

Us neighborhood kids got together at a friend's house and built the most bootleg 6ft vert ramp that a bunch of 6th graders could build. How we lived or avoided major injury is pretty amazing. being the owner of a good ramp was probably the highest status that one could achieve in our world.

Man I loved BMX in the young 90s.
Had GT performer. diamondback. Had a powerlite.
As a kid I would ride my bike over to the the bike shop and help them out for discounted prices on components. Like knee saver handlebars, three piece cranks, sealed bearings, and of course chrome caps

Grew up poor so I'd catch snakes and sell them for money to buy BMX bikes.
In the 80's I had a hutch all star and then a redline B with flight cranks. The redline was my favorite. Both were stolen.

Did any of you buy those miniature BMX bikes at the grocery store, and customize to look like your ride?

NEVER had "mags" on my wheels.
That pic makes me STILL jealous
I had instant jealousy seeing those mag wheels too.
Rocked this bad boy. Thing was fast. Probably because it weighed less from not having mag wheels.

I can imagine having the gate at Capital Schwinn springing back on me at this age.

Thought about buying a 26" Haro Master throwback. Had one growing up (the original 20") and want something to cruise around, do endos and framestands.

Had a performer similar to this... with a couple upgrades and customizations.
Damn I'm seeing some of the old GT performers from that era selling for over a grand!!
Me and my brother threw up money and bought a GT vertigo off a guy and come to find out it was stolen, or not his to sell or something like that.

we would ride to bike shops, where the pros would come in and do freestyle shite.
gt,haro, redline, etc all would be some where during the summer on tour. And on occasion, they would be on tour with the vision, powell and peralta, etc groups for double whammy action.
shite, we would ride 2-3 hours and then 2-3 hours back, every day to see a show or go some where to do shite.
We had freestyle bikes with pegs, but no one did shite, all 2 much of pussies, after that 1st nut crush on frame, or rip of leg on peg, it was ova.
