Some people - and there are lots of them on TD - are way too attached to their dogs. Calling them kids, boys, girls, kissing them on the mouth, letting them eat off plates. They forget they're dogs.

I agree with the first response to this thread.
If you are not emotionally damaged when your dog dies, you don't deserve to ever have another.

I don't understand this at all. I feel like they want a substitute for a real kid, but even then I'm not kissing my child on the mouth.

Most people get over it. The reason they are upset over the death is because having this dog was an awesome experience.
Being emotionally attached to a pet, particularly a dog, is normal. Those who can't understand it are far outside the norm.

In general, yes. Humans lie, steal, cheat, kill, etc... at a much higher clip than a canine does.
So decent humans are better than dogs, but I don't find the majority of humans to be decent. So as a general rule, dogs are much better.
