Since Colorado legalized marijuana, highway fatalities are way down

I'll have to do some research and get back to you.

I recently was at a conference and a NHTSA (national highway traffic) presentation said as much. Overall fatals were down, but drugged driving has surpassed drunk driving.

We are moving forward in some avenues of traffic safety, but this is a major step back.

This is minimizing, rationalizing, and denial.

You should have heard the arguments against SB271 yesterday - they were embarrassing in many cases. It's hard to believe that some of these folks presenting those arguments are actually senators of this state.

They have to cater to their voters. People like ctiger69 who think the earth is 5000 years old and have never left the state of Louisiana.

Throwing focus.

Playing the drug addicts card like clockwork.

Opposed. Drugs have ripped a wide swath of destruction in our family. Wife's brother died at 31 from OD, sister at 51, she went from alcohol, to pot, to cocaine, died from a drug/alcohol binge. Nephew, 23 in rehab, cousin died from OD at 24. Grass is the common link with all, some never drank, but they all smoked grass.

You are fools who want all the pleasure you can get at no cost. There is a price and it is steep.

There is literally not one logical argument for marijuana to remain illegal

ban alcohol. It is clearly the gateway drug here.

Most people I have ever known my age have tried marijuana. Maybe five or ten of them later got hooked on something else. Virtually every one of my friends in college had tried it, at the least. Only one of them had later complications. Why is your anecdotal evidence superior to mine?

I disagree with your opinion, but I will at least respect it if you also confirm that you would like to ban alcohol and cigarettes.

If you don't feel that alcohol and cigarettes should be banned, but you feel that marijuana should, then your position is morally and logically inconsistent (ie not worth listening to)

There is some truth that it is a gateway drug but, imo, it isn't the drug that is the gateway. It is the type of people you are around. Just like a murderer is going to find a way to kill if they have a gun or not, a drug abuser will find a way to get high with or without weed.

Fricking exactly. If weed magically disappeared, Andouille's relatives would have been sniffing glue or huffing paint. They were clearly addictive personalities. If it wasn't pot, it would be something else.

Yea when you buy from drug dealers they often have other drugs they try to sell you. If you can go to the corner store you eliminate that problem.

Youre an idiot. Your power point slide that you keep pointing to basically says if you argue then youre an addict.

Lets use your chart with another debate. I think rape victims should have the right to have an abortion. any argument I make would be minimizing the creation of life, rationalizing the taking of a life, and denial of doing harm. does that mean I'm addicted to Murder?

According to your chart there is no way to argue against anything. You have not given a single argument against legalization that is based on facts. you just keep giving your opinion that weed is bad because uncle Sam told me so.

Ctiger, when I have marijuana I smoke on average once a week on the weekend. Sometimes I will go several months without smoking. You keep calling people addicts. Do you think I am an addict?

Amazing how theres a simple question you can't answer without completely demolishing your logic.

All these people that want to keep it banned hate freedom and are so arrogant that they think they can live my life and make my decisions about what I want out of life for me. Complete control freaks. It really is that simple to me.

It was never intended to be tool for debate. It's only for thinks like interventions or some type of sobriety program.
