Spinoff - How often do you talk to your parents?

Just curious how often you talk to your parents. I was talking to some friends, and he talks to his 2-3x a day which to me sounds excessive. But several other people there said they talk at least once a day.
I talk to my mother about every 10 days. And we text 2-3x per weeks.

I talk to my mom maybe once a week? And she sends random chats throughout the week. Dad isn't a phone talker, so never. But he's often in the background when I talk to mom.
My SO talks to each of his parents (still married) 2-3x per day, for a total of 5-6 calls. I would be exhausted.

No kidding. I had to explain to my mother why I was taking improv classes. It was not sufficient to say "I heard good things and thought I would give it a try"
She was like why give it a try? What did you hear? What is improv? where is the class? what time is it? what is your teacher's name? Why would you want to take improv?
I lost my job a month ago, and you wouldn't believe the questions around that. I told her if she asks me for an update one more time, I won't talk to her until I have a job. I have been working since 1989 with very few breaks, I can take a few months off.
