I don’t get it at all. Men wanting to take their wives’ last name is weird to me, unless their dad was a serial killer or something.

I can see the wife just keeping her last name, and husband keeping his. Happens a lot for established female professionals. I would never take her name though. I would have no problem if she didn’t take mine.
I’m with ya on this.
Wife can make 10x more a year than me and not only would I be fine with it - I would be happy. But I’m not taking her damn last name, and I’m still going to be the leader in the relationship. And I also wouldn’t mind if she had a valid professional reason to keep her maiden name.

A friend of mine just took his wife”s last name after getting married a few weeks ago.
I doubt this marriage will last a year. Women despite what some may claim do not want a submissive man. Tell you friend if he wants this marriage to last he needs to find his balls and put his bitch in her place.

Why should a woman take a man's last name, for that matter? It's a bizarre custom dating from the days when women were owned.

Not sure if I should've posted this in your thread or the other one.
I know a young man who recently graduated from Auburn, he went to high school with my kids. His last name was Cocke. He got married to his HS girlfriend and she didn't want to be called Mrs. Cocke so she had him change the spelling of his name to Cook.
His mom didn't have a problem being called Mrs. Cocke.
