spin off: All streets in Ormond Subdivision...

located in Destrehan, LA, are named after plantations.

Melrose, Hermitage, Elmwood, Vintage, Houmas, D'evereux, Dunleith....and so on.

Technically not Ormond. It's on the other side of the canal, which was not zoned in the original Ormond subdivision. There were streets zoned and added later that connect to the original subdivision that do not follow the street name trend.

I grew up on one of the streets that you named. Ormond was an awesome neighborhood to live as a kid. Great memories.

Lots of Saints lived in Ormond:
Rickey Jackson
Dalton Hilliard
Bum Phillips
Marques Colston

if I remember correctly...Ormond subdivision is one of the best places to live in all of Louisiana. Been there a few times and not much can top it.

A lot of the streets in the Gardere area are named after Confederate generals. Old hickory is named after Andrew jackson.
