Give me a slice or two per year and I'm good. I've noticed it's a bit trendy on social media this year to go overboard with it.

Like anything else, its not for everyone but if you ask someone who really like King Cake they will say no.

Not all King Cakes are equal, but I like a good king cake and if we are talking one that is filled with strawberry, lemon, praline, & and a few other fillings and you asked me if they are overrated I would say NO.

They aren't overrated if you eat them 3-4 times a year.

I loved them as a kid. McKenzie's made some great ones and some dry arse ones. Tastee Donuts had some bomb arse donut level King cakes. I used to wreck that back in the 70s and 80s.
