Amazing how many of you got this wrong calling it a banana spider. Hopefully everyone learned something today.

None of us suspect people to know wtf they are talking about on td.

This is where I come to rule out answers.

Now that we've settled the OP, can you tell us more about why you were running from home in the middle of the night as fast as you can to your grandma's?

We're here for you.

We lived right next door to her, maybe 40 yards between our houses, and from about 5 years old to 10 or 11 I spent nearly every night with her. I was a cickenshit, so I would call her and tell her I was on my way so she would turn the porch light on and watch for me. Then, I would make my mom stand on the porch and I would sprint to her house, afraid something would get me.

It was sort of a ritual.

This. Always funny to see the dude riding in front of you run into one of those webs and then seeing them start throwing their arms around like girls and/or jumping off the bike and damn near beating the hell out of themselves to knock the spider off of them.

I hate those frickers for irrational reasons. I would personally pulverize it, if I saw that in my house before 10 AM, but I'm a small-minded, belligerent a-hole at that time of day.

That 8-legged frick is harmless to humans. If you're feeling like a magnanimous baller, spare its life; if you kill it, the replacement (you never get rid of spiders, you simply obligate them to send updated replacements) might be from a widow family.

All of this. But to their defense, there are a lot of misidentified spiders in the internet. This one is not a banana spider but there are lots of resources that call them a banana. I’ve always called these yellow garden spiders. And banana spiders have always been golden silk orb weavers to me. Even though they’re both orb weavers.

Spiders are the one thing that still turns me into a little bitch. I don't have a problem with anything else.. Just spiders

I pulled a humming bird out of ones web one time.

I'm guessing the spider would've killed it.
