Orb Weaver, or "writing spider". Leave it alone and admire its handiwork.

It is also the reason why as a child, when running to my grandmother's house next door at night, I would wave my arms in front of my face like some kind of crazy person having a fit. One loved to spin its web between a tree and a bush that I had to pass between, and I took it out one night while running as fast as I could. I felt that damn spider crawling on me for weeks after!

Banana spider. Harmless, but scary as frick when you run through one of their webs when riding 4wheelers

I've danced like a little girl before after getting a face full of their web

Thanks for all the replies.

Who needs the insectarium when I can go in my back yard. Last year or earlier this year, I think I posted a picture of a crab spider which it is in the same family of spiders.

It's a type of orb weaver, commonly known as a black and yellow garden spider. 100% harmless and very much beneficial. They are fun to watch. Enjoy it.

Yellow Garden Spider. They make really cool webs and kill bugs. They’re common this time of year and into the fall. They won’t bother you and they pretty much just stay on their web.

Catch the biggest bug you can find, toss it into the web and watch the action
