Hearne -- Hollywood -- W. 70th area.

For the record, I spent the first 7 years of my life living in Cedar Grove (off Linwood, near Woodlawn HS), and my grandparents lived there until they died. It was never a high end area, but it was a decent lower middle/working class neighborhood with schools and stores and baseball fields. We patronized businesses all over west Shreveport. The grid is stamped on my brain.

The whole area looks like Aleppo or Mogadishu. There is nothing left. Landmark buildings that are etched in my memory are now empty or housing some makeshift shitty business. Just poverty and squalor everywhere. It was very sad for me.

Just left Shreveport. My least favorite place to go in Louisiana.

If you are white, you must be super old.

Cedar Grove is one of the worst neighborhoods in Shreveport by far.

Don't ever tell anyone that again. We all know now, and that's too many.

it's been that way for almost 30 years, there's something about the complexion of that area that began to change about that time, hmmm, can't quite put my finger on it

ETA: almost 40 years

Cedar Grove is straight up hood.
Want to get shot? Walk in Cedar Grove at night.

I've been in the Shreveport-Bossier area for 5 years. First 3 in Shreveport and last 2 in Bossier. West Shreveport has been run down the whole time. North Highland as well. South Highland and Broadmoor are trying their best to hold strong. But people are fleeing either South Shreveport or North Bossier fast.

As the hood creeps in, people with families leave.

Deridder because of the papermill we do work at and Fort Polk just looks depressing when driving back to the big city of Leesville which would round out to top three places that are depressing in Louisiana
