Not working how? like not turning on? Coming on but not running? What?
Also, with towels, you just may have to suck it up and air dry as best you can. Maybe even take the generator and dedicate a fan to an area if you can manage to hang them up to dry so you won’t have wet towels.
As for washing them, outside of hand washing them 1700’s style I have nothing for you.

I’ve already accepted that I’m not getting help. It’s not like I’m asking how can I run my pool filter on generator. I’m trying to help people and get this shite. No problem.
Now I’m just here to argue.

Yeah, dryer not seems to be not getting enough juice to turn over a load of laundry. Hanging is no big deal.
Washer side, it turns off while just filling, not even cycling the drum. That’s why I thought it would be a computer/electronic issue that not letting it get through that step. It’s not a big draw on power at that point, just relays opening and closed valves.

Serious question, where are you, why are 13 people staying with you (even if family) and can they not get to a hotel or town with electricity that maybe even has a washeteria?

Thibodaux. We had a hurricane pass through a couple of days ago.

This is really subtle satire developed over a decade of posting in here. Or…..these are your neighbors.
What’s the better plot for a horror novel??

No shite dickhead, the entire south East portion of LA hasn’t noticed. Have fun with your 13 extended family members.

Wash them by hand in the bathtub and hang them outside. If dollar general or Walmart opens go buy 13 new towels for $3 each. It is a crisis we can use cheap towels. Then rotate your bathtub/hanging outside towels.

Just hand wash them and hang them to dry.

I would have loved to be able to do that.

Thanks. I’ll let them know that they can’t stay here to use our house as a staging area to head home daily so deal with the shite-storm that they have to deal with because the ot says they should just conveniently all pool their money and just go get a hotel somewhere far away that would be more inconvenient to them with regard to trying to get their lives back in order. It’s really just as simple as that. Nbd.

It has to be the brand of the washer and dryer. I know my parents Samsung refrigerator will not run on a generator. It lasts about 10 minutes then craps out.

Thanks for the comment. I’m wondering if an inverter type generator would work. Really, that’s why I asked here because I’m sure someone has troubleshot this before.

Props to the OP to surviving with 13 people in his house with no power. He’s being angry but I would have already offed myself so he’s ok in my book.

Would it be something with dirty power from a generator?
Try washing the dirty power and hang it outside to dry.

I have 13 people staying at my house currently and would like to wash towels so we don’t have to continuously use wet towels to dry ourselves. Sorry for that I guess.
Put the towel on your dashboard for an hour, then rotate it. It should dry. Hang it on your fence.
