Had a flat and went to put the spare tire back up today and can’t tell how tight I should put it. I’m a little worried to over tighten it and snap the pully, but was also told you are supposed to tighten until a click and I didn’t hear a click. Can’t find my book and no help googling.

Not sure. I think most trucks have a spring, not sure if it will click or not.

Thought this would be a thread on how shitty that pulley system is and what A hole designed it.

Just let it hang, sort of like a poor man's truck nuts...

I've never heard mine click. I just raise it until it's tight and move on. Can't say that my spare tire has ever fallen off. You'll be fine.

Okay if it’s not supposed to click then I think I’m fine.

I went till the tire hit the top and then cranked it just a little more to snug it up. However, I have a GMC. And yes, it does suck.

Agreed. Terrible system. If you think it sucks while it’s functioning properly, wait until it refuses to come down when you need it.

I had to cut the damn thing off with an angle grinder, it was awesome.

Your spare tire belongs in the bed of your truck baw.

I just went and did another half turn tightening. I don’t recommend that. Hahah it made a terrible sound that indicates I might have messed some stuff up in the pully. It’s still feels pretty secure, but I’d be surprised if she ever come off.
