And you know what, they either spoke the native tongue or they learned to speak it. They didn't expect the majority to adjust to their wishes. That's the difference between our ancestors and today's worthless influx.

And the same holds true now. The vast vast majority slowly learn English.
Do you know why there are Spanish commercials? Not because they demand it. But because it makes for good business. You advertise to the people in their native tongue, they are more likely to buy goods or services from the business or company.
Try opening up a a business in Tejas and put up a sign, that says "we only speak English". See how that business does. Then advertise the business in English and Spanish and watch your sales increase.
