the flight window for today apparently just opened at noon and lasts until 8 PM
the pad is still not clear... so we're quite a ways away from take off... at least a few hours

there is now activity showing that people are leaving the pad
we're still a ways away from takeoff... but we're trending in the right direction for a potential launch

they are now working on the flight termination system (FTS)... another step towards a potential flight today

Starship's flaps/wings are being tested

looks like they are in the process of clearing the pad area... getting all of the workers away from the launch & landing areas... another step towards launch

some blasts of the RCS system... another typical pre-flight test

So they have a flexible countdown I guess?
How long of a countdown is there?

there isn't a real countdown until we see physical clues of upcoming launch... like venting gases showing the vehicle is being fueled
ETA: but yes... as long as the roads are closed and people evacuated and the FAA has flight restrictions in place... the launch can happen at any point... and the countdown can be stopped and restarted as needed

vehicles are heading back to the pad... not a good sign
also... the truck that apparently carries equipment needed to work on the Raptor engines is also re-approaching the pad & SN-15
not good
but there's still 4.5 hours-plus left in the launch window... so still a chance for a launch but certainly not a good thing when workers head back in

Looks like people moved back to the pad...not headed in the right direction. Could be weather, but SpaceX doesn't really give updates

the flaps look to have gone into a closed position (so... not in position for a launch)
and workers are back underneath SN-15's skirt (

workers may have left the pad again

flaps are back open and in flight position
back on the positive side of things... heading back towards a potential flight

Recondenser is on
1st step to begin fueling Starship!!!

if there are no holds... Starship should launch within the next 40 minutes to an hour
Posted on 5/5/21 at 4:36 pm to rt3
there might have been a bit of a hold b/c it looked like the recondenser was off for a bit
but it's back on now
but it's back on now
