Don’t mean to go off on this but it’s my biggest peeve for sure. It’s so bad now that they have made it to where it’s normal to be fat and if you’re regular sized person they try to shame you.

I get claustrophobic. I can manage being in a locked tube whizzing through the air a mile above ground, but if i'm wedged into a window seat by someone in the middle seat that takes up two seats, I'll have panic attacks.

I can't wait for the backlash to end up with SW allowimy single seats if all the fatties are grouped in the fuselage to perfectly balanced the plane.

Is there a standard for what would be an "encroachment" on another? I love the idea, but how does this get applied?

This really is lost on people today. With the "everyone is on the internet so you privacy is null and void" mentality the whole "private space" concept seems to have gone away. It's infuriating talk to people that just get a blank face looking at you when you say something about how they are bothering you.
Especially since so many foreigners have been imported here. They stink, so telling them to bathe is a bad thing. Or them walking around the grocery on FaceTime and speaker phone.
You are the bad guy if you complain to the FA about how you have only have a seat, cause of a chubster, and you'll be the one that would most likely end up having to delay your flight. It's crazy.

All the fat people will buy an extra seat regardless on if there's an extra seat or not. Southwest will then also sell that extra seat to person b. Person b only finds out day of flight and has no recourse other than take the flight or reschedule to next available. Inevitable they'll take the flight. Southwest has successfully sold 2 seats for the price of the three. Given the obesity rates in the US, record profits.

Seems like the belt test is one. Though they stupidly give extenders, but people even can't fit in them. So past extenders.
Also, a big one, if they need the arm rest up. So never say yes to being asked if you are cool with the arm rest up. This one is probably your best one since belt fastened and arm rest down are safety rules.
BUT if they are able to suck their belly in enoug to fasten and squeeze that armrest down, and their body still creeps over into your space you are probably SOL unless maybe you got a good stewardess.
I think if you take a pic of your seat, and any part of the other persons body is in it you should get a discount or moved. You pay for your full seat usage, including the tray being able to fully come down. Doubt it'll go that far but would love to see a lawsuit to push it.

Driving sucks. Too much stress dealing with shitty drivers. I fly and fly 1st class which SW does not have so at least they are doing something to improve their service.
