Which begs the question, do you actually live in Shreveport?

What is with you all about living IN Shreveport? Are you batman coming to save our city? Or did you just get bit by a bat that lives in your old arse South Highlands house???

I I have a friend who just moved to South Highlands. He doesn't like it because he said he is surrounded by baking dogs and lesbianism.

I live in The Haven where the houses are unique!
Plus its on the wrong side of the levee and it only smells like a sewage treatment plant part of the time!

Ive always been curious what the feeling is on flood insurance from the Haven residents. That shite is outside the levee and sits behind Bickham-Dickson which floods every time there's more than an hour of rain.

I'll have to ask. My Mother paid cash for her house but is ultra-conservative and would have it if it was recommended. They do open up to the river which would help. She's been there about 10 years and I haven't heard of any high water problems in the neighborhood.

I live in The Haven- flood insurance not required (I have it anyway- just in case). Mark Roberts owns all the property between here and Bickham Dickson, so the flooding is his problem, not ours. Yeah, the houses are close together and the yard sucks, but it's what we could afford 6 years ago when we built the house. We're about ready to get outta here.
I haven't smelled the sewer treatment plant lately, but I know if you get about half a mile further down, it's STRONG!!!!

I didn't mean to sound critical of it. It's perfect for her. After my Dad died, she couldn't take care of the place they were at. It's a nice development.

I'm just glad no one in this thread said anything positive about Springlake. I think for that we all win.

No you're right, it's prefect for families with no kids or empty nesters. There are a few of the houses in the front that have decent size yards, but towards the back (where I live) they are really small. We have a refusal house (not a patio home), but our yard is still too small to put a swing set in. We extended the patio and took out almost all of the grass.

Yeah you couldn't sell me a house cheap enough in Spring Lake. Encircled by the ghetto- perfect place for an upscale (at the time) neighborhood..

I bought a killer house there in the mid nineties, looked like you could film a Brady sequel in it before we remodeled. But you know we loved it close to the tennis club where my kids lived during the summer. Ended up moving on and what I thought was up. Not so much.

People in Shreveport crack me up. 15 minutes to drive across town is nothing
I've lived in BR and now in Lafayette. When I go he to visit the parents, they crack me up. They try to tell me not to get there at 5pm because of all the traffic. My mom says sometimes in rush hour, you can only go 60 on the interstate.

My folks live in the back of spring lake in a bad arse house. They love it and it is perfect for them. They used to call spring lake the cedar grove shopping center but it is bit as bad as it could or used to be.
