Even after Northwestern State announced they were seeking to open a law school in that part of the state last year, southern also announced they have voted to establish a law school in Shreveport.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Southern University Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a resolution to create a law school in Shreveport.

Assuming both schools follow through, this will leave Louisiana with six law schools.

I suppose there’s a need for professionals in Shreveport, maybe a lot of oil and gas work, but this state does not need a six law schools or a second Southern law school. Hopefully it will just relocate the Baton Rouge law school campus to try and start over from scratch in Shreveport.

It’s bad enough with 4 now. 6? That’s ridiculous.

Who the hell thinks it’s a good idea to open a new law school right now? By the time they graduate AI will be a much better attorney than a 5th year associate. Much.

We have way too many attorneys as it is and half of them (at least) are poorly educated at totally inferior law schools. We don’t need any more of these diploma mills that churn out ignorant, incompetent half-wits. I could tell you horror stories of the semi-literate imbeciles who “passed” the bar exam to fulfill a quota, or knew the right person, or outright cheated.

Lawyers who may not want to practice law in the courtroom, but want to teach law school so they can have an income.

Louisiana law requires you to have passed the bar to engage in attorney advertising so statistically unlikely southern grads are the cause of the billboards.
