I seriously can never tell if you're serious about some of your opinions and questions or if everything you post is always laced with a little bit of sarcasm.

I'll advise him about Professor North

Congrats to him on getting in to the Harvard of Baton Rouge. He is going to get the best legal education money can buy. Unlike LSU and Tulanr grads he will be ready to practice day one once he passes the bar.
Diverse classes and an excellent legal writing program!!

100% accurate, I've been litigating for over a decade and can honestly say I've never won a case against a Southern grad./

Thank god we'll soon have another lawyer and one from Southern to boot!

Yea he's pretty excited. He's already connected in politics so he really just needs to punch his ticket. Southern honestly makes the most sense in his case, even if he gets into LSU.

Is this the reputation of Southern now?
When I was in law school, LSU wasn't Yale, but it had the best reputation of law schools in the state. Maybe they've beefed-up their writing program to make gains. Not a bad idea, seems like something you could use to gain leverage with students, and writing is the majority of what we do, anyway.
No. Southern is a shithole full of grads that no respectable business employs.

If your "friend" is so connected, why would he even need a law degree in the first place? Seems like a bunch of headaches and expense for three years if he isn't even going to be a lawyer.

Not following your logic here unless he's a non-traditional student that has to go part-time.
Oh and this honestly all feels like a not so subtle troll.

SULC is much cheaper than LSU.
If you have a great mentor, you can learn how to practice law from them, no matter where you get a degree from.
A law degree in that case is just so you can check a block on a bar exam application.
In his case, save some money, save some headache, and go to law school in Baton Rouge. Seems like a good deal for him.

You can say a lot of things about SULC and be right. Saying Donald North is a problem is not one of them. He is one of the professors who actually knows what he is teaching.

Agreed. There are several professors there that are amazing like Big Thurm, North, and Odinet. Then there are some that well. . . probably shouldn't be teaching kindergarten.
I see how everyone can talk shite about SULC, but I think a lot of it is unwarranted and brought on by students that just want to say they went to law school, rather than actual critiques of professors, curriculum, etc.
