Explain why median home prices are better in Ascension than Livingston and homes average 45 days or less on the market in Ascension compared to 80 plus days in Livingston.

My best guess is the plants in AP are closer than the LP. People make pretty good money at said plants and IMO the AP has some nicer places to live....

They probably went to a Catholic Parish Fair and just assumed that the Beer Trucks, Roulette Wheels and dice tables were un Christ-like.

What has that to do with Louisiana being a Catholic heavy area? Oh and I didn't read the whole thread.

Most Protestants have no idea what the Septuagint is.

And most Catlicks don't realize that Mary doesn't answer their prayers and that they don't have to pay the Catholic Church to say special prayers so that their soul will be allowed in to heaven with little to know time in "purgatory"

All you need is to repent and accept Chist as your savior and believe in him...Mary(which was just a regular person who was chosen to bear Christ has no special powers)

Mary doesn't answer your prayers, she prays with you. Prayers like the Hail Mary and ones dedicated to Saints are not praying to Mary or that Saint at all. They are pleas for Mary or the Saint to pray for you in the same way that people ask family and friends to pray for them when they are sick or on hard times. It's the same concept.

You're not praying for Mary to use her magic vagina powers to help you win the lottery.

She is dead and in heaven as are all the saints..Scriptures say that the Holy Spirit prays for us and makes intercession on our behalf, why would you need dead guys prayers when a part of the holy trinity intercedes for you ?

As are all of your dead relatives and ancestors, and you can ask them to pray for you as well just as you can ask a saint to pray for you. You can pray for the holy spirit to intercede on your behalf as well. The more the merrier.

Catholics don't pray to Mary. Listen to the words. We ask that she pray for us.

OT: I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

NT: And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Mary was a great and virtuous woman.

Blessed AMONG woman but not blessed above woman.

She was not sinless and she was not a perpetual virgin. Where this comes from, idk. Jesus's brothers and sisters are mentioned in the scriptures.

Funnier yet is the often-ignored influence of Zoroastrianism from Persia on all the Abrahamic faiths. How do we, as believers, reconcile this influence?

"There are other developments, however, in the Jewish faith which are much more easily connected with Zoroastrian ideas. One of the most visible changes after the Exile is the emergence of a Jewish idea of Heaven, Hell, and the afterlife. Before the Exile and Persian contact, Jews believed that the souls of the dead went to a dull, Hades-like place called "Sheol."

After the Exile, the idea of a moralized afterlife, with heavenly rewards for the good and hellish punishment for the evil, appear in Judaism. One of the words for "heaven" in the Bible is Paradise - and this word, from the ancient Iranian words pairi-daeza, "enclosed garden," is one of the very few definite Persian loan-words in the Bible. This moral view of the afterlife is characteristic of Zarathushtrian teaching from its very beginning in the Gathas."

Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Ulrich Zwingli—honored the perpetual virginity of Mary and recognized it as the teaching of the Bible

They were Joseph children, not Mary's.

Scriptures? The Catholic Church gave us the bible. Typology can help you understand the bible better. Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant. The OT's Ark had the Law, the Staff, and Manana. Anyone unworthy to touch the Ark was struck dead. In the NT Mary had the Word, The High Priest, and The Bread of Life. I guess being Full of Grace is quite literally sinless and a perfect vessel fit for The Son of Man riding on the cloud who seated at the right hand of the Father.

Maybe Luther but John Calvin did not believe this.
