Wasn’t South Africa effectively empty when it was colonized by the Dutch?

Im not even sure there was any legal status on land at that time of tribes and hunters/gatherers. Plowing was introduced by Europeans.. Most farms pre colonial were small farms for self sufficiency.

So here's some knowledge for you: the original owners of most of that land were wiped out centuries ago by both militant African tribes and whites. The vast majority of blacks in South Africa are descended from immigrant or itinerant tribes. Just because the skin color is the same, does not make every black man the rightful owner of every inch of Africa.

Yeah, I'm not trying to suggest otherwise.

Another opportunity for the blacks here to go back .....

The blacks here did not come from there.

Just to educate a few in this thread, the farm land was originally stolen from locals generations ago

Over a hundred years ago.

Losing wars have consequences.

It's been a mess as many don't sell. This vote was to stop the compensation part of their land reform process. It won't actually happen until the constitution is changed.

So because they won’t sell the black SAs have the right to murder and rape and steal from the white SAs? And to think that it’s not already happening is willfull ignorance.

I knew that the release of Black Panther would have its consequences.

Sure, it's been a mess for a long time. Property records aren't exactly modern.

So they hate white people because we “forced” them to work on farms and now they want to work on farms?

How did you take that away from what I said? Of course it's not right to murder and steal from any farmers.

I'm trying to explain how SA got to this point. They've been reforming land for decades, but it's been a mess. Their small far left party threw our a motion to reclaim land without compensation, believing the compensation part was holding up real reformation. The ANC party has been losing political clout, but they still dominate parliament. They threw their support behind the measure and it passed as a result.

The main take away is that they've been taking land back for a while, but now they won't have to pay if the constitution is amended.

It was quite scattered, yes.

But you said:

Apparently it wasn’t really farmland and there weren’t any locals in much of the area. I’m confused.

Wonder how long it will take for the SJW's to decide this should happen in the USA?

SJWs wouldn’t give up their own land, but they’d happily vote to give away other people’s lands to anyone with some brown pigmentation. Not to mention, open the borders to any immigrant from any shithole country.

If you notice, only white countries are ever required to be “diverse”. SJWs will applaud something like this in SA, but riot and shut down airports over a temporary ban of immigration from lovely locales such as Yemen and Somalia.

Govt confiscation of land is a trend in former European colonies in Africa. Zimbabwe began taking whites’ land decades ago and the country went from a major grain exporter to a grain importer.
Namibia is doing the same thing, with similar effects. Now SA.

Saw some dude on Tucker (IIRC) that was saying the West needs to do more to help African nations. He said we need to give more money and help them establish economies, infrastructure, etc. And Tucker said - so that's just colonialism which you said was horrible

What he means is that African countries should have all of the same prosperity as the US without having to work for it and without changing their governmental system that makes Washington DC look like the epitome of morality

You're being intentionally obtuse. It wasn't the Dutch's land.
