I saw a guy who had a new f450. I asked him if he liked it and he responded that he loved it, but the ride is rough. I then asked if he had horses, he said “no, why?” I told him that I just figured he was hauling horses to have bought a truck like this. But nope, he said the biggest trailer he ever hauls is his 20ft bay boat. Why? Why do people buy trucks like this if they do not actually haul anything?

Bigger trucks are utilized for more than just hauling trailers. Plus it's probably the "potential" ability to do more that some people probably want with them. Similar to saying why buy a sports car (or suped up Honda Civic or something) to go fast when the speed limit is only blank. But f450 is a taaaad bit ridiculous, I'll concur with that
