Fox 8

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The son of a former Louisiana Supreme Court Justice was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a 14-year-old girl.

Pascal Calogero, III, will also pay a $5,100 special assessment fee, restitution to the victim, and have five years of probation when he is released from prison.

Calogero will be required to register as a sex offender.

According to the prosecutors, Calogero, now 60, was accused of conspiring with others to traffic a 14-year-old girl from Metairie.

In September 2018, investigators say one co-conspirator, who is only identified as J.B., recruited the 14-year-old to work for him as a prostitute and required her to give him all or most of the money she earned from prostituting.

Between May 16, 2017 and May 22, 2017, Calogero came in to contact with J.B. when he received emails and text messages containing sexually explicit images of the 12-year-old from J.B. encouraging him to arrange a date with the victim. In addition to his dates with the victim, Calogero is also accused of occasionally driving the juvenile to dates with other individuals.

On other occasions, Calogero also solicited the juvenile by sending sexually explicit pictures to adult men to arrange dates, negotiate prices and provided his residence as a location for the dates with adult men.

You should get more than 10 years for that.

I wouldn't rule out life

Calogero was sentenced to 121 months imprisonment, five (5) years of supervised release, a $5,100 special assessment fee and payment of restitution to the victim, which will be determined within 90 days.

10 years with 5 of it being supervised release. This bastard won't spend 15 months in prison.

I don't think that 5 years is instead of the 10 years, I think it comes after.

That's absurd. The guy is selling/renting out a child for sex like a slave.

Hopefully he gets 'mistakenly' put in some gen pop areas

this

Assuming the girl was a willing participant (I know I know she was 12-14, my point is she wasn't kidnapped and held against her will) I think 10 years of prison, 5 probation, and having to register as a sex offender is a fair punishment

It is literally impossible for her to have been a willing participant because she is not of age to make that decision.

I'm ok with 5 years in prison as long as he gets raped as many times as he raped/pimped out the girl.

10 years for emotionally and physically damaging a pre teen for her entire life. Doesn’t add up

Willing =/= consent

Probably just means that the victim cooperated with the crime, not “aggravated” per se.

At 12 years old?

The guy has multiple people coming over, after he sent them child pornography, paying to have sex(rape) with a child at his home. I can't think of too many 12 year olds cool with doing that without the older man forcing their hand

Good thing he was conspiring to traffic a human child and not weed. He'd have been in a REAL pickle then!
