I would kill for $150/sq ft. We are starting to look for a place now in Manhatten and everything decent is $800+/sq ft

My last 3 semesters in college I already had a job in my field working full time, lived at home with my parents, and still had to take out student loans to cover tuition and books.

I see your graphs but they leave out some facts. Many "college graduates" end up in much different jobs than their training. I can't tell you how many "college graduates" I have seen working for people that had been at the place 4 years earlier.
This training rarely helped them move up. A degree in underwater advanced basket weaving is a waste of time and money if there is low pay or no available jobs for that field.
It would be nice if these colleges would cut out many of their useless courses. That would be good all the way around.

I'll say this abut the Student Loan debt outpacing other debt, I know a bunch of guys that would take out student loans so they didn't have to work in college and needless to say, they are paying for it now. Not saying that didnt happen 30 years ago, but I think there is more access to student loans today.

I and a TON of other people I know took out student loans and still had to work through college. I went to a damn state school, in state, and I still had to take out a lot of loans.

Student debt is retarding this new generation's progress.

I live in Central La, if you are dropping $150/sq ft you either have some serious coin or in debt up to your eye balls.

Kids want everything just handed to them on a platter instead of having the drive to go out and actually earn something. Don't feel sorry for them one bit.

Here's a shocker, most people who work in NYC don't make enough to buy a place there.

Does the tax rate have anything to do with this.

BTW, my post was not indicative of MY feelings towards Millennials, I was simply offering a position of someone that might hate them. Therefore, if someone has downvoted me because of that post, then I kindly ask that you go back and change it.

Because you are a bunch of pussies. You guys have no heart and desire. You want it without sweating. Fukking disgusting pussies.

I'm sweating right now. I work my arse off for barely any money. I show up everyday early and leave late most days because I'm up for another promotion and I want to keep moving up.

Yea I'm such a pussy with no heart or desire.

ok so why aren't you guys all marching on your alma maters and demanding your money back or raising hell with them? You are mad at markets, older people, industries, etc. but you never appear to get angry with the very institution that "screwed" you in the first place- higher ed.
you people ought to be leading the charge at reigning in higher ed costs and defending alternative educational options and alternative careers. To the contrary you get mad at those things that had nothing to do with why you are where you currently are.

It does, however, have everything to do with the baby boomer's destruction of the housing market.

Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, check it out. You guys are lucky. Interest rates are almost 0. It was 9,5% when I bought my house. Carter was in orifice. I struggled to pay for it for a few years.
Forget buying in around big cities. Prices are stupid high.
