Traveling through multiple countries is not permitted for asylum seekers.

But you knew that.

I don’t have a side. It is amazing that so many of you are reduced to this level of discussion. I don’t really care about politics at all. I have children and wealth to build—what ever happens in the political sphere can happen. I am merely commenting on this from a social perspective. I don’t think democrats using illegals as props is good either, and the certainly do it.

I understand these Republican leaders’ desire to illustrate the hypocrisy of those championing these open border policies, I just don’t agree with going about it in this fashion.

This is the only way to raise the issue to the point where it's addressed.

500,000 people show up in Eagle Pass, TX and it's their problem. 50 people show up at MV and it's a humanitarian crisis.

People are sick of these liberal cities telling everyone else that they're horrible people for complaining about a massive problem then losing their minds when they have to share in a fractional percentage of the problem that they say isn't actually a problem.

I'm not debating that. Simply stating a fact, these illegal aliens (yes that is what they are) were put on a plane and sent to a specific location as a political stunt. Its embarrassing that any politician would do this. I get it, some states have to deal with the issue because of proxy, its just trashy as hell in my eyes.

Given what the Left has done (of which I’m sure you’ll excuse it), screw off. It was a political stunt, but they proved Ron’s point that these people are full of shite. This is in all the shops’ front doors and I’m glad they got totally called out on it. If I ever go to Martha’s Vineyard and see this sign, I’m just going to mock everyone who works there relentlessly after this week:

Let me be clear, I don’t think this is a humanitarian crisis. I just don’t think it is a humanitarian move to use individuals as props.

That's not how it works at all. They should have applied in any/all of the countries they passed through to get here.

It’s surprising that Biden hasn’t followed the advice of his own department of homeland defense and do the same thing that DeSantis is doing but with advanced notice.

He has been doing this. That's the beauty of the move by Abbot/Desantis, the hypocrisy is incredible

Come on man. They’re dropping people off in a wealthy enclave and using them as props. If you think this is a good humanitarian move, we can agree to disagree.

Ship me to Martha’s Vineyard for a day and use me as a prop, and I wouldn’t give a frick. Would just enjoy the weather and the seafood. Dehumanizing Please read some history some time dude.

No one said it was a humanitarian mission. At no point were they treated inhumanely.

Given what the Left has done using people and kids as political props over the past three years, get fricked.

They could have done that without physically dropping them on Martha’s Vineyard. They could have done that using media and showed their refusal to actually take these people, without using specific individuals as props.

What planet do you live on, dude?

Yeah, Desantis, the guy that every media outlet in the country is trying to take out, is going to go to the media and tell them that MV won't take any illegals.

Yeah, that's gonna get the attention he needs to shed light on what the federal govt is doing to his state and many other states around the country.

Grow up, Peter Pan.

They were on one of the richest islands in the United States.

Sad these people cried about helping them after they put up signs welcoming them.

I’m not here saying that the democrats have it right on immigration and border control.

But it’s ok when they do it.

You’re acting as if DeSantis dropped them off in the middle of the Sahara, gave them a water bottle, and wished them the best of luck.

These people look at their causes as novelty items that make them feel good about themselves and they give them the moral justification to demonize anyone who dares to push back on them.

When their novelties show up at their front door, they can't deal with the reality they endorse.

Man, this is no different than when I criticize some of the lefts policies and stances with my liberal friends—it’s all or nothing with you people.

The moderates have been abandoned. You’re either a tranny with a BLM shirt and a “trust the science” yard sign, or a gun toting MAGA insurrectionist.

Adults would coordinate relocation of human beings, they don’t just fly them in and drop them off without warning.

The adult thing to do here is to attempt to get these sanctuary cities to take them, and when they decline, call their bullshite loud and clear and advertise that they won’t accept them.

Yeah, after this last three years of bullshite, I’m done with being the adult in the room. These same twats will say that hate speech is violence and try to destroy anyone’s lives who dares speak out against them. They act like infants so you can’t reason with them like adults. It’s time to treat them like an infant and give them a spanking, and if that doesn’t work, smack em again until they get the picture. Negotiations are over. It is now war.

Then I am sure I can find your angst in the many different immigration threads regarding the Feds doing this over the decades.

Only when the media jumped on board, did you people.

Greenwich, CT and Wynetka, IL too. And all the nicest DC suburbs.

Plenty of places to stay and the locals can afford to deal with it. They will be so pissed too.
