I agree that this isn’t a good look, but planning safety and personnel for a one or two day parade is way different than having to handle multiple weeks of parades.

on friday they were moving the endymion floats outside my office on Loyola. a tandem float was stopped and blocking the crosswalk and i sat there and watched three people cross over the hitch to get through them. about 40 seconds later the floats started moving again. we were legit screaming looking at these guys in disbelief that someone would do such a thing two days after a woman was killed in the exact same scenario.
