Union ironclads fire upon Fort Moultrie in Charleston Harbor (1863). Photograph taken from inside Fort Sumter.
Captured on the same day as the above photograph, a Union shell explodes inside Fort Sumter after the ironclads turn their sites on the aforementioned stronghold.
The USS New Ironsides fires upon Confederate strongholds on Morris Island (1863).
Prussian skirmishers advance upon French positions during the Battle of Sedan during the Franco-Prussian War (1870).
More Prussian soldiers begin to arrive as the Battle of Sedan heats up in the Franco-Prussian War (1870).

3 hundred thousand Yankees
Is stiff in southern dust.
They died of Southern Fever
And southern steel and shot
I wish it was 3 million
Instead of what we got
Is stiff in southern dust.
They died of Southern Fever
And southern steel and shot
I wish it was 3 million
Instead of what we got

Ironic that you show a picture of Ft. Sumter, which was practically leveled by Confederate fire two years earlier. Dick taster.

Crimean War (1853-56)
Distant view of Sevastopol looking towards the Dockyard Harbor with the Mamelon & Malakoff Tower. The lines of Gordon's Battery in the middle distance. Malakoff, the principal Russian fortification, just right of the center.
Distant view of Sevastopol from the front of Cathcart's Hill.
Cossack Bay, Balaklava. A building next to which is a pile of baskets and a holding pen with horses at the landing place on the cattle pier with several ships at dock in Balaklava harbor, also bell tents at water's edge and the landscape of the hills in the background.

I rode with Robert E. Lee,
For three years, thereabout.
Got wounded in four places,
And I starved at Point Lookout.
I catched the rheumatism
A campin' in the snow.
But I killed a chance of Yankees
And I'd like to kill some more.
