I just assumed it was a simulation lab mannequin (most hospitals use these for training) and not a real person (dead or alive) at all

You’d be surprised at the gallows humor the majority of critical care or really the majority of people who work in the medical field tend to have. That being said most of the folks at my hospital think the entire tik tok shite is just retarded.

I'm just pointing out that you can't base part of your outrage at them wasting PPE in the video....cause of all the cringe worthy things they are doing in that video...wasting PPE isn't one of them at all
This coming from someone that is educating and giving guidance to staff on COVID 19 units several hours a day for the last few weeks on proper PPE usage.
ETA: It makes people that are screaming "they are wasting PPE in that video" look really ignorant

If you watch the video closely it is clear it is two clear trash bags. One over the head of the mannequin and one over the feet/legs of the mannequin.
You can see the waist area of the mannequin is open if you really look.

Again...video is shitty. They are shitty for doing it.
But they are not wasting PPE in that video.
The masks? They are already walking around having to wear that mask their entire shift at work no matter what they are doing. That would be on their face if they were just walking in the hall.
The face shields....they aren't throwing those away after each use. They are wiping them down after each patient contact and reusing the ones assigned to them. Those idiots in the video are just wearing the ones assigned to them (or ones they brought from home and are reusing)

Thankful I still have a job and still get full hours at it.
They tried to make me take mandatory PTO for a few weeks to save the hospital money then senior leadership decided that maybe, just maybe, infection control staff might be good to keep around full time for help during a pandemic.
I realize they may still make me take PTO when things calm down a little but just doing as I'm told at work.
Thankful I still have a job and still get full hours at it.

Regardless no way its an actual dead COVID patient lol. Based off the article their goal was that the dead body represented COVID-19 itself and them basically saying they are killing the virus. Either way its in bad taste and is just flat out dumb given the times.
