That’s great man. Me too. But some people actually enjoy that shite. I married a woman who thinks it’s dumb as hell and we are on the same page. But that doesn’t mean we need to be on the same page about everything. For instance, she will watch a good bit of reality tv which I despise, but I get that we all have our guilty pleasures, so I don’t care and it doesn’t affect my life at all.

I mean if your wife likes it and you are lukewarm, then who cares. Even then though, my wife may want to do some things that she doesn’t want to but wants to be a good friend for someone. Am I going to put up a huge fight about it? Probably not unless it’s something ridiculous. It’s a small sacrifice, which is a small part of marriage.

If you've married right, then you know well which things on which to make battles in the first place. I don't agree with Pecker on everything, but he is right here.
You have one life on this earth. frick wasting a few hours some stupid gender reveal party, and your partner should know where you stand beforehand. My partner would never ask me to go to some stupid shite like that in the first place because the person knows what my reaction would be if I were even asked. Establishing your boundaries and maintaining them becomes more important than ever in situations like that. Nine times out of ten the other henpecked dudes at things like that are only there because they got shite from their wives. No thank you.

I have seen this. This is true. The causes and the consequences all differ, but this part is true.

Everyone wants to wear the pants, and if you leave the door open, every woman will wear your pants for you, no question about it, which is why with compromise and such come boundaries you have to establish early on or you’re in for a world of hurt from there on out. If you don’t establish those boundaries right out the gates, you can expect her to set your own boundaries.

Every word of this is the truth. Which can be tough for a true "nice guy" to realize sometimes. But ignore the above advice at your peril.
