I Iucked out in that my wife has cool friends with cool husbands. Now I have s new group of friends that I enjoy spending time with even without my wife. If I wasn’t compatible with her friends I don’t see how our relationship would work.

For many married men, the wife may start to become a mother figure. She may encourage less play (hanging out with friends, heavy drinking, etcetera) and behaving in a more grown-up fashion. Here is the male take on this sea change: "Before we got married she had fun, too. She and I would go to a club together, she would drink and we would dance. Now she wants no part of it." This mothering behavior often becomes even more pronounced when children enter the relationship.

This is some new marriage shite.

After you're married 10 years with a couple of kids its just about who's gonna watch the kids while the other person does shite.

Well, if you piss your wife off now, then she’s going to leave you and get at LEAST half of your shite plus half of your wages until she fleeces another guy or your life starts to suck so bad that you suck-start a shotgun. I have a feeling most guys just feel like they’ll Go with the flow and do what she says just to keep women from nagging.

That’s why you get hammered at every joint social gathering like this, couples showers, etc. Wife will eventually get embarrassed and stop inviting you.

Or you could go, have a few drinks, and enjoy meeting new people.

These party’s may be lame, but “reluctantly” agreeing to going to these parties with the wife (which always have decent food and adult beverages) are a win/win. You get a day/night with drinks without kids, and you get “brownie points” for it.

This is probably the saddest life anyone could live. To live in servitude due to the constant fear that your wife will take your things.

Brownie points? Why do I need brownie points? Why doesn't she need brownie points?

This sounds like lyrics in a John Mayer Song

Well that would explain why I don't like him then.

Not a rhetorical question: how many kids do you have?

Well mine turned into a daddy juvenile delinquent daughter relationship, but when you aren't the real daddy you send em down the road kicking horse turds.

I had to sleep with all my possessions, wallet, keys, computer (lap top), phone under the bed so it wouldn't be gone when I woke up.

If you have four kids, you’re babysitting all four at the house while your wife is getting drunk on wine at the gender reveal party.

Pecker is the dumbest, neediest poster on this site, and I say that lovingly.

I do things that my husband wants to do, like watch the stupid NFL draft. We also spend time doing things that I like...like shop for stupid home accessories.

Actually being in a relationship requires some give and take.

Pecker's "take" is stupid because it appeals to a polar end of men who are just as clueless as he is about how to handle and maintain a long term relationship with a woman and keep her happy.

His posts suggest a very childlike view of everything.

my ex loved to talk about my "boyfriend duties". Was pretty quiet when I asked what her "girlfriend duties were".

I’ve been in a relationship longer than many marriages last. For the record, I wouldn’t make you watch the NFL draft.

As a husband, I’d make you very happy. Of that I have no doubt. The inverse is probably not true however.

You're a giant d-bag. You wouldn't do anything for me. You write desperate nonsense for Internet attention. No woman in her right mind cares at all about the BS that you post here. You've got the most fragile identity that I've ever encountered.
