Dude....you’ve been married less than 1 year. Be sure to come back and regale us with your genius when you’ve got 20 in.

I could have been married for a month. Would that make what I'm saying wrong? What if I take my thread idea and give it to my dad and have him start it? We've been together since 2012 btw (after I retired from the game after many successful years)

I don't understand people who have this relationship. If someone is having a gender reveal party and there is something going on (college football, already made plans, etc), I am not going.

While I understand it is very important to the family having a kid, I am happy for them an all, but if it isn't someone I am really close to then I am not going to put it above anything else going on.

Just thinking about my parents, I could see my dad having to go ask if he can go play cards with the men down the road or something... Like he did when I was young. Someone would stop by while he was outside having his evening 6 pack, ask him if he wants to go play cards at the neighbor's house down the road, he wouldn't even tell my mom. He would just take me with him.. And for a few hrs, he would teach me how to play cards, while he plays.. And let me take a sip of beer every once in awhile. Get home and say "I been playing cards down at __________ house. I'm going to bed".

Nothing, just my way of saying I will do something she wants me to do as long as I still get to do what I want later. Sometimes you gotta make those sacrifices.

Equating your wife turning into your mother and feeling obligated to go to shite you don’t want to go to is wrong. They’re not the same thing. You’ll learn that. That’s all I’m saying.

Don't let her treat you like a child bro. You're a strong, independent man with dreams and desires. Don't let her talk to you the way she's been doing for the past few years, especially in front of your friends.

I hate to white knight for Pecker, but your first statement doesn't seem to support this. Everyone makes sacrifices in a relationship and does some things they'd rather not do out of a sense of obligation. Yours seemed to be very much in the vein of placating your wife so that she doesn't throw a tantrum. Now, we may all do some things out of a sense of keeping some peace, but if your wife behaves like that, it's because you've trained her that it will work.

Why do you hate to white knight for Pecker? His threads are usually actually pretty good.

There is some things i don't really like to do but i do it for her sake. She knows i do many things to keep her happy so she doesn't complain about some non family activities that i partake in.

My wife never throws tantrums.

Anyone who says their wife doesn’t give them shite from time to time for not accompanying them to things because they don’t want to do it is either full of shite or hasn’t been married very long.

I had a thread earlier where I remarked on my insistence that I would never go to a gender reveal party. "you'll go if your wife tells you to go" [paraphrasing] one poster opined. Others tended to agree.

Because most here are pretty spineless although they act the opposite.

There's a fine line between getting shite from your wife and being made to do things by your wife.

My wife's mother and her husband are like this. He's basically a neutered man-servant.

Early on we had some problems, but she figured out that she wanted to take on the feminine role, I figured out that for her to do that, I had to grow up and handle my business. Gender roles, done correctly, make happy marriages.

What's happened to our men? I don't know if you understand this, but my wife isn't my mom. She doesn't order me to do things. I'm open to discuss anything, but if I do something, it's because I agreed to it, not because I was issued an edict. Now, by the same token, I don't demand things of my wife. She's not my servant; the respect goes both ways. She doesn't blow me on command, and I'm not going to accompany her to a gender reveal party. Again, it works both ways.

This guy gets it. I do a lot of the things my wife asks me to do. I don't mind. She tried early on to issue orders and that didn't work for me. Occasionally she has tried again and I politely remind her that I'm no child. I don't go to baby showers or go do girly shite like that. She doesn't even ask any more. Some of you may want to let your balls drop again. Your wives will respect you more.
