I think NOPd have been directed to stay away from the protesters unless they are going to potential hurt someone or themselves.

I called Joe 4 times and called Helena 3 times. Left messages for Joe but Helena’s number goes straight to voicemail and unable to leave a message.
I’ll definitely be calling back in the morning and will be sending emails.

There is a better statue of him at Lafayette square. Think the Laffy square statue is the one where McDonogh day was held, but maybe I am wrong.

Maybe if they would have taken 5 minutes to read this Wikipedia page they would understand who John McDonogh was and what he meant to educating both black and white children in New Orleans.
Where does it end? Do we allow mob rule to set the standards on what statutes stand and what statues come down?
