you could just be gracious winners and try to help maybe assuage some of their fears or giving them some of the things they're requesting. because they're americans too.

The problem is that discourse with these emotional delusional people individually and as a group is impossible at this point because of the clouded emotional state of their reasoning (or lack thereof). Obama pulled too far to the left, the republicans are too power hungry to pull back and we are left with basically a socially liberal populist protectionist 3rd party president. Once again, you can thank Obama. These women issues are red herrings and CNN is still clueless about the real issues. lol Patricia Arquette is one of their political analysts. Prick. So you post a few pictures of overweight females I order to undermine everything they're doing. You sound like an a-hole to me

those who marched, fear for things like their own health care, their birth control, their rights to have an abortion (in protected and life-threatening scenarios),

Trump isn't threatening to take away health care, birth control, and I can't recall him ever talking about overturning R. V Wade.

He is however proposing that the federal gov't no longer fund those items. Since you seem to know the Constitution, where does it say citizens have a right to federally funded abortions? If the citizens of California want government funded abortions, let the state of California fund them.

in los angeles, more than 750,000 people protested

and what did they accomplish?

lastly, i would also remind people in this thread, that 3 million more people voted for hillary then president trump in one of the most contentious and bizarre elections the nation has ever seen,

I would like to remind you that you live in a republic. Thankfully the founding fathers had the foresight to set up our Republic in a way where a few densely populated areas would automatically secure an election for either Candidate A or Candidate B. It was your candidate that said numerous times, "to not accept the results of this election is a threat to democracy". I guess it's easy to say things like that when you think you are on the side that is winning. But quite another when you are expected to practice what you preach.

I myself voted for Gary Johnson. But only after I knew Hillary had no chance of winning Tennessee. I feel there were probably 2,999,999 voters that did the same.

quote:

we allow people to protest. we allow people to peacefully assemble. we allow free speech.

yes we do. but the type of free speech I heard from the likes of Madonna and Ashley Judd, I feel I have a right to voice my concerns. If I went around saying, "I want to blow up the White House" I would most likely be met with serious repercussions. Why does the 1st Amendment not apply to people like me?

At the end of the day the democrats lost the election because of their candidate and the republicans won in spite of theirs.

Seriously, besides providing internet fodder, what did your protesting accomplish? While you were protesting, Trump was doing his best to make this country more fiscally responsible and deliver on his campaign promises.

I find it funny how people like to hang on to the 1st Amendment and crap on the 2nd Amendment.

In another post you asked Stout "why not be a gracious winner?"

I myself endured 8 years of Obama without ever once managing to attend a ridiculous protest. Meanwhile, I lost my doctor, my premiums sky rocketed, my deductibles sky rocketed despite my President assuring me they wouldn't. You and the people who marched today have lost absolutely nothing. Nothing.

I would like to know why your Los Angeles brethren can't be gracious losers? How many out of touch celebrities have threatened to leave the USA if the rest of the country disagreed with their political stances? If you can't see how absurd that is, I don't know what to say.

What I've been able to gather from the past few days is free speech is a wonderful thing as long as you live on a one way street.

I wonder how the left would have reacted if a group of CEO's threatened to not only move to Spain, but take their businesses with them after Obama got elected?

Or made fun of the color of President Obama's skin the way Ashley Judd did of President Trump?

There is a segment of the population that relishes being "victims". And if they are not victims they just make something up like "Occupy Wall Street".

They don't want equal rights. They want extra rights.

ETA - Jim, you are a big sissy.

I'm curious if there is a mass memo sent out from DU or something telling them what boogeyman to protest week to week.

Keep crying wolf and you get tuned out. That's just how the world works.

Man I'm the last one to tell people to not stand up for what they believe in, but make sure when you do, you are doing it for the right reasons because there is going to be a time you will have to stand up for yourself and that's when you will want someone to take you seriously.

I give zero fricks about any opinions on this board. You all think in a way that serves you and your world view. There is nothing wrong with that.

This thread is a thread of hate and ridicule. I have been cursed out as much as anonymous protesters are being called out for being fat and having beliefs. I don't begrudge any of you the right to think what you think.

But the reason I spoke up in this thread is because of the title and to shine light on the fact that real people walked in this thing. A lot of you know me. More people like me walked in this thing then aberrants and outsiders. They're simply people who disagree with you.
They're your fellow Americans.

You are now the party in power. Our responsibility is to protest and push for what we think is right. Yours is to actually use the power given you.

We have a common goal. The disrespect in this thread is self evident and has been extended towards strangers and to me.

My life is wonderful. But I do worry about others less fortunate. Be well.

Peace, love, happiness I thought that was the motto for liberals yeah frick that. Go March all you want but nobody on this side gives a shite.

Their message of tolerance only applies if you tolerate them and their ideals. As soon as they are suppose to become tolerant, they turn into whiney little fricks.
