Well, at the next meeting, have them put "Solar Loser" tattoos on their heads so I can differentiate.

I wish. The sales bros hate me. I’m the one cutting off their financing when the FICO dips too low or they want to sell some Chinese shite panels.

Absolutely not. 23% capacity utilization.

Buddy of mine just got them against my strong recommendation not to do it.

Same size home as mine. He’s paying $140/month for 15 years for the panels. His electric bill runs about $90/month.

My bill is $120/month.

Do the math.

Hard to say in every case. I have about 12 KW (32 Mission Solar panels)WITH ONE TESLA BATTERY BACK UP...My roof is fine but I had all panels mounted on metal shed roof next to my boat shed....Last months bill from Entergy was 24 dollars. Originally got in on the 80% state and federal rebate about 12 years ago. Had all panels replaced under warranty last year. Like I say it's hard to say. But DUMAs know it alls are going to think they know it all. Just shop and get educated on solar first.

I only utilize my truck about 3% of the time. And it only utilizes about 25% of the energy stored in the gas. Total waste of money.

We can't do the math unless you tell us what his bills ran before the panels. Your bills don't matter. Also need size of his system. If genuinely only offsetting $30/month then he got screwed.

Either you, your neighbor, or both are dumbasses.

Financed systems almost always have a savings requirement in underwriting. My money is on him.

They're worth it if you can afford it.

What I want to know is what you do when you have to re-shingle the roof.

In Montana, we have them on the ground.

In Florida, we had a metal roof installed prior to getting the panels.

Basically, it won't be my problem.

Who in their right mind would take power plant input from an appraiser?

My personal opinion is that if you're building then you should go through with the added expense. There's no way in hell I'd want to install them on an existing house.

I am looking forward to hearing the next line of bullshite from the liberals when their useful life is over and they have to find a way to dispose of them.

Not much to it really. Recycle what you need to replace to get the system back up to the home owners needs. But that’s at the end of a pretty long service life. Entire system decommissions or remove and replace is pretty rare.

JFC. Bills were basically the same beforehand. It’s not rocket science.

Solar panels are a scam. Just like wind. Read WSJ today re: offshore New Jersey wind turbine project.

I'm saying when you sell, on your appraisal, in areas where they are common, that's how much value you'll be given.

No you won’t. Making stupid statements like that is what’s so frustrating about this. A 30kW PV + ESS system that’s owned outright with top tier equipment is going to increase value more than $7k regardless of what someone who took a 6hr internet certificate course says. When I was house shopping we looked at plenty of houses that already had PV and the increased price was proportional to the size and quality just like everything else. Ultimately the appraisers just get railroaded by the real estate agent anyway and do as they’re told. Do you actually believe adding a power plant to your house creates no value?
