Any decent music store cried them nowadays. They've gained tremendous popularity in the last decade. But for a good reason. It's easily the most versatile hand percussion for any acoustical style. I've played it in bluegrass picking circles in the Appalachians, Cajun circles at Black Pot in Lafayette, Gypsy Jazz in Nola, and pretty much anything else in between. I'm even using it to play blues and Irish tunes in a band I joined in Colorado. It's the perfect drum for someone that loves playing percussion, but hates drum circles.

No problem. If you're near kennar, there's a great drum only store, I think off of Williams.

If you have a PS4, buy him Lego Jurassic World.

Otherwise, I can just buy my boys(4 year old twins) a couple of new $.99 Hot Wheels once a week or 2, and they're totally content.

THIS!

4 year olds should be just about ready for T-ball. Sooner the development begins...the better.

And for the OP: Think about the potential payoff. Potential LSU baseball player and/or MLB player if it works out right....Small investment now..potential major payoff later!

Already got him a squat rack. Gonna develop some mass & strength then figure out what sport to apply them to. don't want to limit his potential to only MLB. Think big. He starts with deadlifts tomorrow at 5 AM

ETA: i bought a whistle and megaphone too

Apparently not since he smashed that $500 "toy" with a hammer.

and there's plenty of educational stuff for him to play?

The educational stuff on the iPad is way overrated and the same gains can be made with tangible items. Plus, electronics at that age can do a lot of harm to a developing brain in terms of attention issues.

Yes. My daughter started playing it at 5 and she loves it. It was better than expected and cheaper than expected too. You can download games online or buy in store

You waited until the day before his birthday to ask what kids are into these days?

Nice job parents.

Get him a fish.

Tee ball or Soccer goal are good ideas. Does he watch any cartoons? My niece & nephew (ages 5 & 3) love Paw Patrol. I got them Paw Patrol toys for Christmas. They still play with them 3 months later.

Mine is into the dumbest shite I have ever seen. They are called "Shopkins." Look them up and you will understand why I question my child's intelligence thus far. She also likes anything that has Frozen on it.
