Don’t allow him to look at jewelry and you’ll have your business branded as racist by Yelp.

Pretty sure that guy is white. At least on the outside.

Residents of Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes were among 219 cadets graduating from the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program at Camp Minden during a ceremony at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on July 25, a news release said.

The graduates are Brentt Reinninger, Albany; Hailey Bahm, D’Shawna Burgess, John Eichelberger, Emanuel Ginn, Clu Humble, Marissa Klicker, Adler Persac and Jordan Turnley, Denham Springs; Landon Brown and Landon Patty, Holden; Hunter Johnson, Jonesboro; Dontrell Boyd and William Wall, Kentwood; Zachary Blount and Ethan Thorne, Livingston; Ernest Lavigne, Ponchatoula; Dolton Dickens, Robert; Keundra Johnson, Tangipahoa; and Russell Aydell, Jaron Cornett and Raven Ruiz, Walker.

Burgess was one of 10 cadets awarded the rank of 5 star, the highest rank a cadet can achieve. She also was selected as Cadet of the Cycle and delivered the commencement speech.

State Sen. Gerald Long, District 31, addressed the cadets as well. Also present was state Rep. Henry L. Burns, District 9.

The Youth Challenge Program offers cadets additional opportunities to further their educational goals through partnerships with Bossier Parish Community College and Associated Building Contractors.

“YCP graduations are always bittersweet. Watching the cadets grow from Week 1 to Week 22 is a blessed experience. The journey has been long and they have earned the privilege to graduate,” Camp Minden YCP Director Capt. Jason Montgomery said.

The mission of the Louisiana National Guard YCP is to equip adolescents with the values, life skills, education and self-discipline necessary to become productive residents.
