I’m not dictating anything but how I would handle this situation.

Not hot and heavy. Fail.

You don’t know anything about this kid. What you are doing is revealing your own thoughts.

You have heard of childhood sweethearts?

You do know the legal age to marry in Louisiana is 16?

Pretending that a significant portion of posters had parents or grandparents that married in their teens.

I don’t think you have any kids so I formed my opinion of your empty rhetoric based on that.

TOTALLY different societal norms at the time

more often than not those grandparents lost their virginity on the wedding night after marrying at 15

Of course you are. You said lack of good parenting.

You are welcome to your style. But your comment speaks for itself.

And I’m not saying your position is wrong.

I do, as well as court decisions on a near daily basis. You should take your own advice before spouting your ignorant opinion

Which has nothing to do with your opinion on how to handle the situation being discussed.

Yet the laws still exist. And teens are marrying now.

The point is that those horndogs only married so they could get some. Right?

If you wanna believe that cool. No facts.

Plenty of men had to do right by her.

Pretending people weren’t having sex. Lol

Maybe you can explain the carnal knowledge law to me if you don’t mind. My understanding is the age of consent is 17. If the adult party is within 3 yrs of the minor it’s misdemeanor. 4+ year gap it’s a felony.

Individuals aged 15 or younger in Arkansas are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape. Arkansas statutory rape law is violated when a person has consensual sexual intercourse with an individual under age 16.

quote:

Louisiana statutory rape law is violated when a person has consensual sexual intercourse with an individual under age 17 who is not their spouse. Louisiana does not have a close-in-age exemption. Close in age exemptions, commonly known as "Romeo and Juliet laws", are put in place to prevent the prosecution of individuals who engage in consensual sexual activity when both participants are significantly close in age to each other, and one or both partners are below the age of consent.
Because there is no such "Romeo and Juliet law" in Louisiana,
Now what Pedo Bob?
