I ordered a book by that crazy Oriental physicist titled "Science of Sci Fi" or something like that, where he speculates which technologies would be soon (couple hundred years or so), within a millennia, or probably closer to an eon away.

Teleportation, interestingly, fell into the closest (century or so) category, with him saying they have a handle on the concept and it needs to be fine-tuned a lot.

BTW so did lightsabers- he said it's basically the same as arc welding, the biggest obstacle is power supply.

No matter is being teleported. These are photons which have no mass. Also, the information being teleported is still limited by c.

Gotta start somewhere. We didn’t figure out how to enrich uranium overnight. It started by figuring out how to enrich tiny quantities and slowly improving upon those methods until we were able to enrich enough to make bombs and nuclear reactors. Just think about the first computers and microchips. Yeah, 9/10,000 isn’t great, but it could be the start of a technology that will change mankind forever.

Particles escaping a potential well is the fundamental theory of quantum, literally explains radioactivity. Science is cool, but it doesn’t help us get out of here.
