So my mom had heart surgery today.

Surgery was apparently about eight hours ago. I get a text from my brother five minutes ago asking if I knew she had surgery. I had no idea. Apparently she’s going off at the mouth on Facebook (I hardy ever check Facebook) about how none of her kids came to see her but doesn’t bother to mention no one told her kids it was going down.
Now instead of going to the hospital hours ago at a reasonable time I have to try to beat visiting hours and go right when I’m ready for bed.
WTF!
I think she loves the drama and attention.
God Facebook is the worst.
Seems I have to make sure to check Facebook every day so I’m up to date on our families current events.

Nope...if she didn't tell you that it was happening, then she didn't feel like she needed you. Go tomorrow after you "find out about it on facebook"...

Was this planned ahead of time or emergency surgery? The answer to that question is going to help us determine how much of a crappy son you may be.

So something must have come up.
She is fine now it seems.
I just hate that she does this Facebook drama shite all the time.
I don’t mean to sound callous but she really does seem to try and get as much woa-is-me attention as possible out of every situation. (says the guy who posted this to a message board)

Ok well that doesn’t sound as bad then. Good luck to her and your family. Recovering from that surgery is not easy nor quick. I hope she has someone available to be with her 24/7 for a couple months.

I had surgery a couple of days after I was born.
