I live in Houston. In case my Uncle dies and leaves me something, what’s it going to take? $5 mil? $10mll. Or, as I already know, am I destined to work until I die?

IBF ‘Kill yourself’ because frick you, you are married and working too, lol.

It all depends on how old you are and the lifestyle you live.

60+ and a homebody? A few mil can get it done.

25 and want to ball out? A lot more

FU money is multigenerational imo. You can’t be new money and truly have FU money(outside of a few tech billionaires)

How are defining frick you money? Enough to live comfortably and never work another day? Or being able to do/buy whatever you want, whenever you want forever?

Enough to buy your kid a slot on the Stanford water polo team and hire a high powered criminal defense lawyer.

frick you money is very relative, but I have always considered real FU money to be generational wealth. The kind where you are on a ski vacation in Zermatt and decide you want a chalet you will use 3 times a year and never rent and close within 30 days with the price being a rounding error in your net worth.

It is when you stop thinking about the buying power of money and start thinking about money as the ability to buy power.

I interpret FU money differently. It’s not money that you live off forever. It’s a stock pile of savings that allows you to tell a boss ‘FU’ and walk off the job because you got a stash to live off until you find another job. Most people don’t have FU money because they need every paycheck.

First time I ever heard the phrase was after I earned a particularly large commission check. A coworker told me, “now you have FU money.” I had to ask him what that meant.

That is not nearly as bad as grown men that finish every sentence of a post with "ha ha". At least LOL is ubiquitous.
