Yea you have like 50 times the amount of completed models i do. I also have a feather duster I keep next to them. It works great just have to keep careful with it. Jerry cans and ammo boxes are easy to break off. But I would recommend a feather duster.

But it will take months to rebuild

Look at the pins the shelf sits on. There is a tiny hole you are supposed to secure the shelf to the pin with a screw from beneath to tie in all four pegs to the shelf. It prevents "accidents" like this.
I learned this when I knocked over a shelf and broke some vases.
The more you know!

At least it appears the phantom pilot was able to eject. Could have been worse

Put them on the bone-yard shelf as relics of their service.

You should still enter it, but as a combat mission casualty.

Well you do have a point there. Hopefully they’ll reimburse me before Friday so I’ll have an extra $300 to take to the model show with me. I was already planning on taking about $200 so this would mean I could have up to $500 to drop on kits. The stash is about to grow.. a lot.

What’s weird is the cleaning crew never dusts. They just take out the trash and vacuum the shitty carpet. And even if they were going to dust, I could tell they were far from careful. On the upper shelves my models were misaligned where they’d been push around. And the one of the vehicles had its antenna broke off. That shelf has been there a long time and they’ve never touched it until last night. And they don’t even need to dust it. I keep one of those aerosol duster cans that I use to keep them dusted.
Same thing happened at my office a few years ago. If the cleaning staff dusted at all, it was usually just a quick wipe of the screens and keyboards.
But one morning, it looked like a damn gorilla had been through the office. Stuff was pushed all over and not put back where it used to be. One of my White Sox bobbleheads was dumped in my chair with the bat snapped off and my coworker had a coffee mug from his grandma in Belgium with the handle broken clean off of that.
Those were just trinkets compared to your stuff. Sorry dude.

The monetary value of stuff is beside the point. The carelessness demonstrated and disregard for others’ things is what gets me.

That is why at my actual office I do not keep any toys/collections/memorabilia/etc. They mysteriously start disappearing, or random people start touching them, or they get involved into small accidents like yours.
Now, at my home office, that's a different story. All kinds of sports and music collections is at full display. But nobody other than family walks in there and nothing ever goes missing or breaking.

After Katrina I was laid off, company went under and just opened again under a different umbrella but I was never allowed back into the office to get my personal items
Autographed 2003 LSU helmet, Hornets jersey signed by Jamal Mashburn, etc. since that day I vowed to never bring anything of importance to the office again.
People suck

You have to strike back. First its a plane "accidentally" destroyed, next your archduke is getting assassinated riding through Sarajevo
this is the way. i also recommend an overly complicated series of alliances and treaties with complex triggers and provisos across all of your co-workers, adjacent businesses, and competing cleaning companies.

I’ve never had such an issue here. The only people on my floor are all on my team and we’re a pretty tight knit group. Never thought the cleaning crew would do anything like this.

My office, or model room at home is the same way. As I said earlier, the main reason for this shelf in my work office is to free up space in my home office shelves.

I’ve looked up the kits and it will cost me just shy of $300 to replace the kits. But it will take months to rebuild what’s been broken.
Put a value on your time. Ask for a real nice check.

the Phantom!!!
I thought the same thing.
Dad flew the F4 and had (emphasis on "had") a nice builder's model of the Marine F4. No one respected or protected the "Marine Room" (bar with Marine stuff in it) so the four sidewinder missiles had no fins on the underside, one wing was chipped, and the stand was broken with one part missing.
I found a source to replace the stand, but a "no go" on the wing chip (the chipped off piece was never found).
The helicopter builders models were likewise damaged, but I may be able to find the rotors one day. One was the only CH-46 builder's model with HMM-161 on it.
