You're dumb if that's what you really think. Haha. Go read about nicotine sometime.

Ironically, I'm not a smoker but just decided to try some Nicorette after drinking a few beers one night. It gave me a nice little kick and now I am hooked on that gum. Is there any product to wean you off the gum?

Doubt it. Guy I work with dipped for years, moved to the gum and spends triple on gum versus what he spent on snuff. It's kind of funny. He gets jittery as hell within an hour of not chewing the gum.

And yeah, I tried some Nicorette once when I was drinking. I can see how one can get hooked in a hurry.

I quit a little over a year and half ago after smoking 24 years.

Cold turkey is the way to go. And drink water when you get the urge.

I quit for new years resolution and haven't had one in ten months. I'm surprised that I haven't had any cravings I couldn't control but the thing I couldn't predict is that I've had all kinds of assorted minor illnesses and irritations that I never had before. In other words I actually feel worse when I thought I would start feeling great.

I'm not giving in though. I'm done with it. Maybe I'll turn the corner eventually. Good luck to the OP.

I smoked for 32 years and gave it up 12 years ago. I'm 20 lbs heavier but I don't give a shite. I taste food for a change.

And I did not drink for a year.

Smoked for 35 years. 2 packs a day for most, 3 packs a day the last ten. Loved it. Saw my brother in an induced coma for 30 days, on oxygen breathing like sipping soup. I got home, finished the carton I had and quit cold turkey. That was 4 and a half years ago. My brother lasted one more year and died. Haven't gained a pound.

I've been smoking since I was a teenager. The longest I ever went without cigarettes is about 7 months after an angioplasty in 1997.

For some reason this past March I just kinda slowed down. I was smoking 1 - 1 1/2 packs a day. Since March I haven't smoked 3 packs of cigarettes and I have not smoked any cigarettes since early July.

I won't say that I quit, but now it's becoming a matter of will. When I feel like having one I just say "later" and the urge goes away. I know I'll want one on the golf course tomorrow.

I have put on some weight which I attribute to a slow down in metabolism and the fact that I'm now 65 and sucking on Tootsie pops more than I have since I was a kid. It's always something.

Nicotine is not good for you but it's not the majority of the harm of cigarettes. It's just the addictive part. Vaping is a hell of a lot better than smoking, especially since you can adjust nicotine levels and taper down more easily.

If you're going to keep a crutch, at least get a vape worth a shite and quit buying those blu eCigs. Get a decent setup and slowly ween yourself down on the nicotine strength.

Those blu and the other ones you buy at gas stations have a lot of nicotine
